Sol, c'est un split qui réunit deux maîtres du black metal cosmique : Mare Cognitum derrière le spectaculaire "Sol Ouroboros" qui est brillant voire brûlant, d'une technicité magistrale ; sur le dissonant et apocalyptique "Sol Medius", Spectral Lore annonçant une catastrophe imminente. Sol, ce n'est pas un split : c'est une collaboration ("Red Giant" le confirme) colossale qui condense dix milliards d'années en soixante-dix minutes ; les deux artistes sont synchrones et forment un seul esprit.

Sur An Extraconsciouq Lucidity, Jacob Buczarski consolide son style et, par conséquent, cet album se démarque grâce à ses détails. Tout d'abord, la production est un peu plus distante qu'autrefois. La batterie est toujours aussi technique (vraiment, c'est une des plus grandes qualités de Mare Cognitum) mais son aspect mécanique est désormais indiscutable et, en l'occurrence, ça la rend moins terrestre. La guitare est stellaire. Mare Cognitum passe de black metal à black metal atmosphérique !
